Hello! Thank you for stopping by. My name is Dominic Barone and I am proud to be a candidate for the position of Oshawa Regional and City Councillor – Ward 1.
If you’d like to learn more about me and why I decided to run for this position, please read on.
My undergraduate education focused on biochemistry, which I then used as a stepping stone to enter Pharmacy School and become a licensed pharmacist. I have been practicing pharmacy since the mid-1980s and I am now a trusted medical professional with over 30 years experience in running a business successfully and efficiently.
Since immigrating to Canada in the mid-1980s, I’ve lived in several areas of Durham Region. Before that, I lived, studied and worked in the United States and Europe. I have seen other nations, regions and municipalities that utilize tax payers’ money effectively and intelligently, while creating an environment in which their people can live better lives – less taxation, better services, more jobs. Oshawa can and must do this.
For too many years, I’ve asked myself why I pay the taxes that I do and what my family gets in return for it. I am committed to ensuring that the Oshawa City Council runs our city as I have run my business: efficiently, transparently, providing my customers with the best care with a frugal, far-sighted eye on the future.
